Anyone ever?
Has anyone here ever replace your anode rod (sacrifice rod) in your water heater.
Does anyone in here even know about it? |

I know about them. I learned about them just after it was too late.

I've done it a bunch of times. It's the kind of thing you should put on your calendar and do it regularly.

Use a impact just to break it lose then hand out and in. Don't forget to turn the water off and drain down. I have seen some of the questionable endeavors in here.
Do your homework to see what type is best for you. |

On the water heater maintenance thread I suggested and provided a link to powered anodes. I think they are greatly preferable to sacrificial anodes. Powered anodes are more expensive than sacrificial anodes so your time has no value and you're always going to change the sacrificial anode on a timely basis, stick with sacrificial anodes. Otherwise, powered anodes...

No, replaced elements and thermostats.
My water is decent with no mineral buildup or a lot of crud when I drain it. Mine has always been the element. |

Speaking of Rod maintenance, some people here should change their butt plugs anally, I mean annually

In my entire life....which is a considerable time....I have never changed an "anode rod" nor have I ever even had to change out a hot water heater. How cheap a bastard or how anal do you have to be to even think about doing this??

It is called normal maintenance. I am surprised so many didn’t know about it. |
