Stump the Stars
I’ve had a Holley 3810 on my shelf for 10 years. Can anyone confirm one way or the other whether it could be the original carb for my late (last day - 7/12/67) 327/350 4-speed. The numbers are:
3906631-04 LIST - 3810 2848 If it’s not original to my car, it doesn’t make sense to hold onto it any longer. Thanks! Steve |

Steve,
I've never been a fan of Holley carburetors, and therefore don't know such details about them, but you might find useful info here: https://www.holley.com/blog/post/hol...unter_s_guide/ I'd also think that Lars would be able to identify that carburetor for you. PM me if you need his email address. Live well, SJW |

Haven’t had a chance yet. We’re off on a road trip right now. I’ll research it when we get back.
Take care, Steve |

We're back home from our trip. As an aside, we spent a week in our motor home in Pigeon Forge, TN. We came in during a major regional Rod Run event which was a surprise to us. Ordinarily, this would be a great bonus to find on a trip but this was a mess. Lots of gorgeous cars from what we could see. However, you can't bring 125,000 visitors into a town with a permanent population of 6,400 without creating MAJOR traffic issues. So it wasn't as great as it could have been. As for my carburetor, I checked the link you gave me (thank you for that!). The dead give away that it's not original to my '67 is that Holley used a 3-digit date code up until 1973. I have a 4-digit code so it can't possibly be the born-with carb. The date code translates to October 11 in a year ending in 8. Actually, I'm not disappointed because knowing it's not original, I'll save the money on getting it restored. Take care, Steve |

Good to hear you found the answer, Steve. If you're just looking to off-load it, you might want to see if Lars would like to have it, or possibly those young ladies who are doing rebuilds down there in FL. Or sell it online.

There's something to be said for getting spare parts into the hands of somebody who needs them, when we've decided we're not likely to use them ourselves.

It has value as a number correct service replacement carb to those that are not looking for judging as it is as close to factory installed as you can get.
