Default Sheet carrier

The only problem with a mid size truck is the inability to carry a standard 4x8 sheet set flat, because of the narrow wheel wells. Here's my solution.

2x6 runners lift the sheet off the floor and over the wheel wells. Braces hold the runners in place. "Siders" keep the sheet(s) in place. Blocks bolted to threaded holes 4' rear of the front side keep the assembly from sliding backwards. One 20' length of rope from the FR cleat to the FL cleat, over the rear end of the sheet then to the rear right cleat, will keep the sheet in place, and create a hanger for an overlength flag.

I'll make it out of untreated pine and store the small bundle upright in a corner of the garage when not in use.

Your drawing sucks cock. Don’t you think some item numbers on the drawing to correspond with the BOM would be helpful? And why would you use metric fasteners?

FAIL.

Funny but in his thread with the dimensioned drawing that did not add up, I said that I did better in 7th grade drafting class.

Helpful to who, you? Don't you dare steal my design.

News for you: Ford went all metric years ago. The threaded fasteners in the sides of the bed and installed by the factory are metric. The larger ones for the factory cleats and for my blocking are M8-1.25. The smaller ones to fasten a bed extender are M6, and are currently filled with used screws from the transmission pan of my Porsche.

You beat me to it. I would have said buy a real truck. Course I use mine for hauling a few different trailers, carrying heavy/ dirty things in back and plowing snow.

Speaking of your fasteners and the shitty BOM, are we suppose to guess at the material? Stainless? Carbon? Grade?

If you’re going to go though the trouble of making a drawing at least include the pertinent information. Do better. Really.

Your last post you equated manliness with truck size and I slapped you down accordingly. Now you're attempting to change the subject to pretend that it didn't happen.

You can buy any material bolt that you want. First rule of good design: let the builder make the unimportant decisions.
