Here’s my take on all this. IB owns the joint and sets policy which includes what and what isn’t appropriate content. The Mods are nothing but trained Apes. They may or may not agree with what IB dictates but if they want to remain Mods the expectation is they enforce the rules and guidelines IB has set.

I’d agree that IB likely has a set of guidelines, like no use of the “N” word etc

But I doubt IB knows or cares if someone is banned for questioning a post to a mod in pm. That’s 100% the power trip ego of SaveWipe.

The petty shit that we've seen that has driven members off the site has been purely up to the discretion of the moderators.
Most are reasonable. But a few, like Chemdawg and Vettebuyer, are drunk with power (because they have none in real life) and love to bully others. These are the type of narcissistic delusionals that everybody thought were asses growing up and in the work force. The kind of guys who make really crappy bosses and leaders due to their own pettiness and lack of maturity and security.

Both the Vette Barn and the other place use vBulletin which is owned by Internet Brands, right?

So, why is it that things are different here? Can’t be the policy. That has to come from IB and consistent across all of their “properties”.

Has to be the personnel.

I quit P&R two years ago, C6 Gen before that, and have stuck to OT. I really haven't had any problems there about any political posts I've made (mostly in Dude's "Vaccine" thread) and I haven't held back at all.

Somebody there doesn't like young women in bikinis, so on two occasions they removed a pik I posted -- but that was over a year ago.

Beats me but it's not out of the realm of possibility they have different polices. Furthmore, I don't *think* IB owns this place. (Don't know for sure) I suspect vBulletin is simply an app you can buy/rent/lease. I bet any one of us could fire up a forum, sign up for vBulletin -however that works- and set our own policies.

CF is hosted and run by IB for profit. The Barn isn't.

the Barn uses the platform vBulletin to run its forums no different than Ford uses Goodyear tires to run its cars
