Uh, they can be secured you know. You don't just lay em on the ground.

I understand that you also can put siding on them.

They are very strong and can withstand harsh weather.

Yes, but those weren't tied down. I would imagine that a zone 3 set (lots of anchors and straps) would keep one of those containers in place. The reason mobile homes don't do so well is that they aren't built as sturdy, plus they have windows and doors that can be broken open. Once that happens, the change in atmospheric pressure can really wreak havoc on a mobile home.

Interesting to note that a zone 3 set (the most stringent guidelines in the US for strapping down mobile homes, BTW) is only required in one place in the country.....South Florida.
