They should start by using books that don't jump around and skip pages.

So on 2 of three nonconsecutive pages both sets of ideas are represented.

Oh the horror!

The only side that matters is what he believes. Everything else should be banned by the government.

I feel like I've seen this ignorant, intolerant mentality somewhere before...

You are a doctor, surely you don't support teaching this crap to the kids.

Why allow lies to be presented as equal to the truth?

You think they are lies. Evolution is a theory. There is some evidence that supports that, and some that does not. Creationism is a theory as well, with some supporting evidence, some not so supporting. None of us walked the earth back then so there is no 100% way to know just how it happened. But even evolution doesn't disprove intelligent design. And don't even jump in with the 7 days argument because nowhere is God's seven days defined. I think both theories should be taught side by side, with no weight given to one or the other.

Evolution is a theory, creationism is religion. There is massive amounts of evidence for evolution, and absolutely none for creationism.

There are tons of evidence contradicting evolution; there is zero evidence contradicting Creationism.

Private but since they switched to a voucher program they are using state money to teach this garbage.

Louisiana is right at the bottom in nearly all educational rankings, guess they want to stay there.

I support parents' rights to raise their children as they see fit. I also know that you run backwards down the evolutionary chain and all the way back to the big bang theory and eventually you come to an inevitable "and we don't know what happened before that" point. Just because one explanation of the things we don't understand doesn't appeal to you does not make it any less valid than any other one.

I appreciate the theory of evolution as a process because it makes sense. I also know that the mutations that underly the process may seem to be random, but since the vast majority (99.9999% or more) of random mutations are deleterious compared to the original, it is at least worth considering that he mutations might be directed somehow.

That is considering alternate theories, not dismissing them as crap, for the record.

Yet you support the party that will not allow Evolution to take its course with people in real life.

I disagree. I think parents that would let their kids bleed to death in the name of religion before getting a blood transfusion should be put in jail.

I think parents that have severely obese kids should have those kids taken from them and put in a more suitable environment.

I believe parents who beat the shit out of their kids should have them removed from them.

And on and on.

Parents have the right to tell their kids any kind of fairy tale story they want to. They do not have the right to deny them a legitimate education. That is exactly what is going on here.

That belief in the big bang theory is in direct conflict with creationism.

I'll grant you that we don't know what happened prior to that, but that doesn't necessitate interjecting god into the equation. We didn't understand gravity once either.

But we already know how this process works. DNA is constantly bombarded by alpha, beta, and gamma radiation which can cause cancer or can cause gene mutations which can then be passed on to offspring. The beneficial mutations give the new organism breeding advantages which then change - evolve - the species.
