A V12 outboard motor? Whoa...I'm no boater, but that looks very cool.

I'm not surprised though. Many people might not remember that Mercury Marine built the original ZR-1 32-Valve motor, so they clearly know their business.

I'm still pissed Volvo closed down the Seven Marine line up, those things were BAD ASS and LS motors to boot.

Hard to compete price point from Merc or yammi's.

Yahmaha 425 is ~$47k

Merc 450r's are 60k a pop, and their 400 verado starts at $36k. The 527's were 80k and the 627 are 90k.

Plus the ease of warranty and parts for Merc and Yammi.

I'd take 4 Merc 400 verados over 3 527s. $160k vs $240k in motors.... no brainer.

I would wait a bit and get 2 Mercury Racing versions. Supercharging should bring at least another 150HP each to the party. Less weight, less GPH, less $$$ than 3 "standard" 600s.
