Shooting groups, not bad for a few weeks off
I got talked into going to the range with a neighbor today for a few minutes. I needed to get outside other than Dr Appointments or Work.
I brought with me my STI Trojan 9mm 6" and my stock Ruger 22/45 MKIII. Shot at 7 yards and 12 yards and was very happy with the results. Usually i can keep my 7 and 12 yard grouping much tighter but wow, what a difference a few weeks make in your capability of keeping a tight group. yeah, yeah... i know groups aren't everything and i practice all sorts of shooting like competition, 3 gun and attending academy's but sometimes its nice to just try and fit all your shots in 1 hole. My Trojan was giving me some issues as of late after putting it through a couple of very fast shooting work outs and it would give the occasional double feed. I adjusted the tension on the extractor and its flawless once again! There is a volquortsen trigger kit for my Ruger sitting in a box but i just haven't put it in yet. I'll throw it in when i strip this down tonight. Hot damn it feels good to get out and shoot to relieve some stress and just drift away to your happy place And for the results 7 yards 7 yards 12 yards now for my STI Trojan... my precious! 7 yards 7 yards (im a good shot but sometimes you get lucky ) 12 yards |

What do they charge? We go to the bullet hole every time I'm home but my FIL if fighting cancer and finding a cheap indoor range would be good. There is the one on Bandera road but they are pricy.

7 yards? That's like half a first down.

Lanes 5/6 go out to 50 yards. Thats nice for those home builds that you need to simply get it on paper or sight in a home defense rifle setup. Its very nice, very clean and doesn't get above 75* while shooting... the targets are on a nice electric zip line so you don't have to do a cease fire and they don't have any stupid rules about rapid fire (as long as doing it safely). I bought a membership for $100/yr since i shoot on my lunch break but even $10/30min isn't bad for that quick fix ya know. As for the Bandera indoor range (Texas Guns)... good god they are just STUPID expensive. They require you to shoot ONLY ammo purchased from them (Lead free) where bass Pro will let you shoot any factory loaded ammo. They don't want reloads in there but i know several people who put their reloads in factory boxes Its a great range for that shooting itch. |

Good going. Getting out there and shooting is therapeutic. I try and get out at least once or twice a week just to relieve stress. It's amazing how much you can lose in just a short amount of time.

I bet shooting people who cause the stress would also be therapeutic in removing the stress.
