I never had a dishwasher prior to moving into this house. I guess I lucked out because it's a Bosch. It does seem quiet compared to others I've heard. Seems to do a good job cleaning the dishes too.
I've had it for 6 years with zero problems. I'd buy another one. |

All Bosch appliances in the kitchen.
And Bosch makes a better cordless drill than Desuckwalt, too. |

I guess I'm in the minority. My Bosch dishwasher was quiet, but it took 2 hours to complete a cycle. At 3 years it needed a $200 part, another $150 at 4 years. Finally it couldn't be repaired. I even looked at buying another one because of its quietness, but no Bosch has a heated drying cycle. Got a Kitchen-Aid that does, just as quiet as a Bosch, has a 1-hour cycle.

If Bosch built BMWs I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Unfortunately, BMW builds BMWs. |

* * * From an engineering standpoint, the reason Bosch achieves such quiet operation is, they don't include a "food macerator" feature to chunk up / pulverize food you leave sticking to the dishes. The macerator is what makes the awful grinding noise most old-tech washers produce. Steve, keep an eye on the instruction manual and see if there's a screen or something you have to clean out regularly. |

The macerator was only one cycle anyway... So quiet it needs a light at the bottom to tell you it's running. Up next: Bosch builds wives! |
