Oh dear! Your buddy is taking a direct hit - landfall was at Rockport in the last 10 minutes. He is on the NE leading edge so the winds are not as strong, but it did came a shore as a Catagory 4 with 130 MPH winds.

Between Mrs Fox and I we have 100+ relatives in the direct predicated path of the storm over the next 3 days.

Looks like there were a few mini tornados last night in the Houston area. For the rest of us, it's like Chinese water torture to see who will flood over the next few days. The storm is predicted to stall out, then make its way towards Houston.

Some wind but quite a bit of rain overnight here in Katy. I decided at 3 am I should bring the patio sofa set inside, just in case. I did not sleep much between that and the constant weather alerts.

So far, unscathed. I shoved all the patio furniture in to one spot and tied it together. The bayous and creeks are all full so if there is another round, it has no where to run off to.

It looks on radar like my area has some kind of protective barrier around it keeping the storm out

Just checked....creeks in the vicinity of Casa de Bill are up, but not close to overtopped. Detention ponds built after Ike have some water, but are nowhere near full. As long as we get respites between feeder bands hitting us, we'll be fine. Another plus is we were bone dry prior to this, so the ground had plenty of water to take.

I walked my neighborhood, besides two houses losing rain gutters, there was absolutely no damage in the hood, not a single fence down.
