I'm sure the gate and flight crew didn't get up in the morning with the intent of making someone's day miserable. But not all mistakes are of a gravity that requires the company to genuflect to the customer or offer compensation (even though it was offered AND eventually accepted). People need to buck up a little and be satisfied with "We're sorry, an error was made, but this is how things have to work." I'm not a shill for big business by any means, but there comes a point where you have to stop pandering to every crybaby who's looking to be a YouTube celebrity and get a cash payout. |

who he is, what he holds in his hand, how much he paid, where he is going, and everything else related to this case are immaterial. he was given an order to get off the plane. once by the crew, once by the police. they don't have to have a reason to remove you. if you are told to get off the plane, you GET OFF THE PLANE!
you can debate it later, sue them (unsuccessfully), make your case in the news. but that plane is not taking off with you on it. failure to follow crew orders is itself a crime, so he was never in the right, he was always in the wrong. still is. any harm that came to him was his own fault. |

I'd politely decline the cart guy. When 3 armed cops show up to escort me back to the store, I'm going to accept their offer. There is one big difference between the flight crew and the cart guy. The flight crew has federal law behind them. I'm required to obey the flight crew by law. As far as I know, there is no federal law insisting that I follow the orders of the cart guy.
