Only partially true. It was put in every phone, but currently no app is utilizing the capability (at least that's the "official" word)

Yep, we traded away privacy for convenience. You can turn off Location Services to disable GPS tracking. You can still be tracked by the location of the cell towers you connect to but I don't think that info is available without cause.

I bought a Faraday pouch for my phone thinking it would help avoid this tracking crap but it didn't work at all. It was supposed to block ALL communication with the phone. No calls, no blue tooth, no texts, email etc.

FAIL. Returned for refund.

Here is my next move...

this is all a bunch of b.s.

on android it's a setting in the google os and it states "to turn on covid-19 exposure notifications, install a participating app". So no covid app, no notifications, and it's not automatically tracking your covid status, it's allowing you to share if you have it or have been exposed to it. Also,it's Off by default, and the only way to use it is to actively download another app that interacts with the .gov's covid tracking.

Chill everyone, this is all a bunch of b.s.
