Is that a window or a set of sliding doors going outside?
Are they in the ht room?

you may want to shorten the cord/chain on that fancy chandelier just a wee bit.

That is a slider to the outdoor garden area in the downstairs hallway. The theater will be on the second floor we are creating.

NOW I've got time to get to the HT and I'm starting this week.

Are you running 7.2? I'd love to see your plans for sub placement.
I'm having a dilemma with mine.
Kingpin has been helping me with good links on bass traps.
Scott
Yes, 7.2. Sub placement will depend on the final room characteristics. Since it will be on a subfloor bass tends to work more efficiently than on a slab.

I have an 18" Def Tech sub and a REL 12" sub. More than enough to shake the entire house down.

My current receiver is a Denon 4308ci. This will eventually be replaced by something beefier or separates.

My projector is a JVC DLA-X30B. I am currently looking at the Stewart ABB 120" motorized screen.

Ah sorry if I missed that.
Have you though about doing an infinite baffle in the attic like this to get the 8-16hz tones that your other 2subs can't do.

I love these projects.
I always look at them as if they were my own so I apologize before hand for getting excited and bombarding you with questions.

No worries! I love talking about the topic! I have seen those type of subs! I have a friend that is one of the founders of SVS.

Ask away, tell me all of the code violations and paint my walls green.

Alright here are the questions and comments so far.

Are you running a seperate dedicated electrical panel for the room?
If so what are the plans?
If you're running dedicated amps are you going to run 20 amp outlets for them?

Any plans for staggered studs and how you are going to hang the drywall?

Is the equipment going in an enclosed room or will it be in a cabinet in the room?
HVAC is something people often overlook when building a ht room.

What are you using for front and centre channel speakers?
Is it a perforated screen so you can place speakers behind them or in the wall without any loss of sound from the screen?

Please answer within the next few minutes as there are followup questions to your answers.

No, there is plenty of room in the existing panel.

I am bringing in (1) 15 amp (2) 20 amp circuits in the room.

No and it will be screwed.

If you look in the pictures there is a nook under three small windows that a custom built cabinet is going in. That cabinet will have fan ventilation.

Agreed. I should have plenty of airflow.

I have some older Def Tech towers and center channel. The towers will be to the right and left of the screen with the center on a stand below the screen.

So now that I've concluded that you are not a ht dummy I am on board.
When do you want me to be there?
I require 3 meals a day, snacks in between, a computer with a fast internet connection and preferrably a couple blond slims in the 100-110lb area.

I was building home theaters when it was only for the rich. Although I admit I am way out of date.

I will struggle with getting all the wiring exactly where I want it since there are some constraints. I don't want to rip all the sheetrock off the walls.

I have 20mbps/20mbps Internet and I am married. Thus no 3 meals a day and no additional women allowed. Let alone a Canadian.
