I like the GN. Wouldn't trade my vette for one though.

I'd be way more proud to own an 87 GN then just about any C4, save for a ZR1.

A GNX maybe. And then about all you're getting is straight line speed. And after four or five runs that GNX slows way down. Heat was a killer to those cars.

Depends on why you want to...
Unmolested GN's in decent shape are definitely collector items compared to C4s. They are "cool" cars for their era, but they are not a sports car by any means, and unless highly modded, not a particularly fast car by today's standards. If you desire a driver's car, the GN will likely disappoint you. It will feel like piloting a large cushy boat compared to your C4. GN's do have their niche, and are desirable cars in the historical sense, and/or for those wishing to heavily mod one up for drag racing purposes...But comparing one to a Corvette of any vintage is totally apples/oranges. It all depends on what you want it for. Drive a GN, and learn about their weaknesses and shortcomings before deciding. It will answer the question a lot quicker than we could. |

The GN is a sweet car especially with some big fat tires and a lil love under the hood but the interiors leave much to be desired and what is up with that horrible shifter... I had an 87 442 which was cool and an 84 T-Type which I painted black and powder coated all the chrome black to look like a GN and then dropped a 350 in it, it was a fun car but no way was it a Vette. I'd like a GN or a GNX to tool around to cruise ins and the like but for really enjoying the drive I'd have to go with the big daddy of the GM line up and that's the Vette.
This doesn't have anything to do with the new GF does it??

Joey, you're 21 - your mind is still not fully developed so you really have nothing yet to lose.
Why not get rid of the C4 and get a dependable, used, gas efficient car, get through school while you build a little savings account, get a better job after school, move out of your parent's house, get on your feet and THEN get a sports car? |

Way too much logic in this thread.
We're talking about a C4 and a Grand National here. Go GNX or go home. |

I read someplace the other day that a new decked out Camry is faster than a stock GN.

Variety is the spice of life. Someday you'll tell yer buds I had a C4 then got rid of that for a GN which I wrapped around a tree, then I got the GTO cuz it was sporty and had room for the baby seat but had to sell that cuz the wife said it was dangerous and that's when I got the Grand Caravan, it's sweet cuz it has the drop down DVD players for JB Jr. and 'lil Bessy plus look at all the cup holders and room for my frog giggin spear in the back.
