I would find a new 2004 Ford Ranger Edge xtracab with the auto and 4.0 somewhere and ride happy. Mine died an ignominious death earlier this year from a serious rodent incursion. Easily the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned and just the right size for a guy who uses a truck often enough to have one but seldom needs (or wants to herd it around) a full size pickup.

I have a 2022 Ranger with the smaller cab, 6' bed and very few options. Great truck.
