Grew up in the SF bay area. While I'm sure I could find work, there's nothing for me there now.

You can never go home again.

I loved my hometown while I was growing up, but I could never live there now. First of all, it's in that bankrupt, crime-ridden shithole called Illinois. My high school has installed metal detectors to keep the guns out. The town was platted in the 1850s and the streets are too narrow for automobiles, so mobility is a hassle. And it's ****ing cold there. Yadda yadda yadda.

However, I will be there to visit over Christmas.

What part Franklin. We get to SLC every now and then.

Last count been to around 38 or 39 of them. Still looking to see where I want to end up. Don't think GA will be a final destination.
I live in Stansbury Park. It’s 30 minutes outside of downtown SLC. It’s a bit more rural but growing rapidly.

What town?

Me, born Berwyn, LaGrange, Downers Grove and Warrenville.... no longer any reason to go back after MIL passed.

I make my own Chicago thin and stuffed pizza, we get Vienna beef hot dogs, will roast beef and perfected the Italian beef, we get frozen Whitey’s so I’ve overcome the lack of “home food” here in NC.

Don’t miss OldStlye but wish I could get Strohs beer but since Pabst bought them it’s not the same

St. Mary's, that is where I bought my TrackHawk from.

I spent half my time in Belleville, MI before moving up to Lake Orion. I left in 81 for the Navy and spent 22 years in Norfolk VA. I wouldn't want to move back to either of the towns in MI. When GM built the plant up there is messed the urban area up. We were also too close to Pontiac MI. You think Detroit was rough, not a chance with Pontiac.

Too funny, I went to high school with one of the sales guys there. I too lived in Belleville for a couple of years, but that was in the mid 90s

We lived on Brain Street in Belleville. My step mother had a house on Fenster in the county.

I dealt with Matt Hamilton at Bud's. Great smooth transaction. Wish I had a dealer like that around this area.

Where in North Cackalaky are you? I grew up about 45 minutes from Mt. Airy (Mayberry). To get into NC, it is about a 35 min. ride then down Fancy Gap mountain to the border. Used to ride the hell out of the roads in NC on my motorcycle.

Live in N. Raleigh.... area growing like crazy The whole area (Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill is now over 2 Mill and no sign of slowdown w ~20% growth rate. Just starting to get congested on roads but a hell of a lot better than many other places

Love the western part of state and to your points, the roads

Yup, you are in the city. Even Winston Salem doesn't compare to the area you are in. Raleigh is a pretty long drive from where I grew up. But yeah, I'm a hillbilly...

I’ve thought about that seriously in the last few years. The house I grew up in was on the market and I could have picked it up for a song. Nothing would be the same though. Most everyone I knew has moved or died.
