I agree with most all of that, however, have you considered that opening the border brings on the chaos of an uncontrolable flood of people desperate to cross? Look at our southern border

The difference is, we didn't actively cause our Southern neighbors to live in a shithole....they did that all by themselves.

1. I believe it was a staged question with a well prepared answer.

2. I would prefer to have Isreal as an anny over the Palestinians.

3. I would prefer that the US be a self sufficient, isolationist nation, but that will never happen. It certainly COULD but no one would be willing to pay the price. I mean that literally. Foriegn countries, like drug dealers, have us hooked on cheap goods and like drug addicts, we are not willing to go through the withdrawls and will ultimately OD and die in our current state of dependency.

You've mentioned the foreign aid bit a couple of times; it's about $3B dollars, most of which is military. It's minuscule when compared to the rest of the useless crap the government wastes money on.
