Thats the problem. Since Elections have consequences those that GET from the Government will always support more government. Those that are taken from become under represented. and sooner or later die out or leave.

You might want to rethink that. I believe it's more like 2/3 of the country if you take into account government leaches. Unless you consider people stealing from you "working".

Not that there isn't a need for some administration but barrack doubled their number as a way to keep unemployment numbers reasonable. We're not only still paying for their upkeep we're paying a hell of a lot more than if they were on simple welfare.

Damn straight, Faryland and NOVA are the only regions in the country that are really prospering, all else is a negative, because only the lawyers/crooks survive today,

As one who gets social security Gene, you realize you are one of the "47%" conservatives bitch about, right?

Maybe the solution to our fiscal problems is to just kill all the old people who no longer contribute anything to society.

Perhaps folks aren't enlisting because they don't believe in the cause(s) they will be asked to fight for. Lots of folks, for example, disagreed with the Vietnam war, and the Iraq war. If you told me that by enlisting, I would have been shipped off to fight Iraqis, I would have said "no thanks."

Sadly, I don't think our military is being used to keep us safe and free these days. Hell, even the Border Patrol isn't being used for that. The military, and the BP, are being used as foreign policy aids. See the examples of BP folks who actually DO repel foreigners, with force. They get locked up, just like Ramos and Compean.

Back when I was a baby libertarian, I foolishly believed that if people were just exposed to the ideas of real freedom, personal responsibility, and self reliance, they would board the freedom train. I know better now.

We have the government we deserve. "E'erybody in Cleveland gots da ObamaPhone" and "Obama's gonna pay for my gas and mortgage" voters are not interested in the personal responsibility part of the pogrom. Others who want .gov to dictate to others by force how they should live their lives are not suddenly going to vote against that continuing, either.

When another country becomes powerful enough, we will lose our "world reserve currency" status, and that will be that. Our fiat money will be worthless, and we will be relegated to the ash heap of history.

Most people are afraid of freedom. And even more know that they cannot control themselves and demand governemt do it for them.

Freedom is not free. It requires vigilance, the desire to take responsibility for yourselves and those near you. It also requires the ability to work with others by defining your mutual self interests and working together toward them WITHOUT massive oversight and external support.

Statically that does not matter, as someone who received SS and Medicare, you are still lumped in by your brethren as part of that 47%.

By the numbers: Social Security - CNN.com

56 Million Americans received SS. All of them paid into it. What you and the rest of the left fail to realize is that the money for this program was poorly managed by government. If this had been a private retirement program the administrators would be in jail for fraud and fiduciary malfeasance.

47 million Plus are on food stamps. How many more are on Welfare, section 8 housing and other entitlement programs that they did not pay for?

Lastly SS is a ponzi scheme and needs to be phased out along with Medicare. Both are a disaster and have casued untold damge to the American way of life.

That is precisely my point. When conservatives say 47% are freeloaders, they are including retirees.

As well as veterans.

The actual number of people on public assistance that are able bodied and of working age is probably closer to 3%.

Look at the food stamps that you guys like to yell about being abused. Out of the 47 million Americans on food stamps, only about 3.9 million are people between the ages of 18 and 49 who are able to work.

Study: Number of 'able-bodied' adults on food stamps doubled after stimulus change | Fox News

The hypocrisy of liberalism on display.

Demand Darwin be taught in schools and refuse to allow it in real life.

If you cannot provide for yourself and your family, friends, neighbors, church or other civic groups don't want to help you then please just die.

Assuming the numbers you put up are correct, why should these groups be releived of the burden of paying taxes?

Rome didn't exactly fade away. They were pillaged by zombie hordes (aka barbarians). Our zombies are wanting their chance. Our communities have no mutual self-defense plan for such a mass invasion but I don't guess they need one with 50 million gun owners wanting to do the job for them.

They should probably reinstate civil defense organizers to our communities before it's too late.
