I read that about a week ago and can't, for the life of me, see how a college can jsutify giving a break to somebody there illegally when somebody from out of state who can legally attend that college has to pay significantly more in tuition. Liberals and their (lack of) logic....

News flash: Texas has been doing that for years, giving illegals discounted, in-state tuition. No SS# or proof of legal residency? No problem. Ask Rick Perry about it and he'll tell you about compassion and how treating criminals as criminals is "wrong for Texas".

Pull the log out of your own state before you go after the twig in another state.

Well, the first thing is get ready for a huge increase in the Asian population of your colleges when entry is based on merit.

The ballot proposition had to do with employment in state jobs, state contracts and admission to state colleges. It's been challenged in court many times, and still stands. I'll try and find a link to the original ballot proposition.

Edit: There's so much info that one link wouldn't do it justice. Just google Proposition 209 and you'll see a lot of links, including failed legal challenges to it.

Texas governor Rick Perry is the longest serving governor in Texas history. His Lt. Gov, Dewhurst, is currently leading a campaign for US senator, to replace retiring senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. During their tenure, they over doubled the size of Texas government in 10 years. Over...doubled.

And the people of Texas keep voting for these folks. Apparently, we want illegals coddled. We want big government. We want sanctuary cities.

Voting has consequences, and we voted for the guys that give the illegals free stuff. We are no better than CA or any other "liberal state" in that regard.


There was a news story about Texas A&M last month. An openly illegal alien student (receiving taxpayer subsized tuition, BTW) was running for class president. And there were students at that very conservative campus interviewed who not only thought that was just fine, but indicated that they were going to vote for the illegal.

As far as Perry goes, well, he needs to go. The opposition in the last election (lib from houston) was a much worse option. It's time for a real conservative to step up to the plate.
