Since race seems to be the topic of the day, I'll bring up another.

You’ve just clarified what I have thought for decades.

I truly believe the best thing that has come from the resent Presidential Election is “Clarity”. Beyond any doubt, I believe that election has revealed the truth in political and social thinking. We look at each other, we wave, we smile, we talk at, but not to one another, but now we really do know what we think of each other … and for that, I’m grateful to see progress. We now know where everyone truly stands, there’s no ambiguity, and we can see it in the daylight now.

If there’s anything I dislike the most about our President, is that he doesn’t get it. I commend him for his effort, and I commend him for his class, but really do think he doesn’t get it, and this is where he loses true Progressives. True Progressives are always moving “forward”, and if you’re not keeping up, you simply get left behind. Progressives don’t go backwards, if they like anything that happened in the past, they don’t go backwards, they bring it forward and make it better with the changing times. The further “right” President Obama goes, more the “ultra-right” makes him look stupid for trying. Anyone with eyes can see, he can never go far enough “right”.

This is something President Obama needs to get across to the American People. We’re NOT going back to the Good-Old-Days; we may bring what is Good about the Old Days and make it modern and better. But he needs to let the people who what to go backwards go by themselves and die off like The Dinosaurs, besides, their time in space in limited anyway, so why waist the oxygen. The old way of thinking has a Generation or at most two, after that, they’re done.

Just to clarify this... you are saying no minority scholarships, no funding for minority specific programs, no minority grants, etc, etc?

Personally I am against legacy admissions... just like I am against any affirmative action for school admissions. ALL students, white, black, brown, or green should have the exact same standards, admission process, and access to funding. There should never be a scholarship, grant, or any other funding that discriminates against a student based on race, sex, creed, sexual orientation (yes, there are gay scholarships out there).

At the same time if those things continue to exist (and they all do), there should be no issue at all with a straight, white, male scholarship... but we all know that the liberal idiots would never let that happen.
