- 1991 ZR-1 is a keeper, I've owned 6 Vettes and will own more but the ZR-1 will always have aplace in the garage - LT5 Motor!!!!! - Great for performance but lacks basic comfort for cruising - MORE POWER!!!!!!!!!!Stroke it to 383, 393 gears, Tires, C5 Brake Upgrade???? - The list is long but distinguished but the South GA Corvette (AAron Scott) engine mods make the most difference. All he did was port and polish the intake and injector housings and put his chip in it but that woke the motor up nicely. Last edited by YorkL8apex; 10-10-2009 at 8:54pm. |

I have a 1995 Polo Green on tan A4 that I got my Srs year in high school.
I have pulled the LT1 and put in a banging LT4 crate from GM. I have cammed it and put in new injectors and a mail order tune. I have a few sensors that have gone out and a leak at the crank positioning sensor. But a set of long tube headers and a port and polish job is in order. |

Sweet, welcome to The Barn.
Its fun having a "more mature" Vette with some sleeper grunt to sneak up on unsuspecting young ponies and such! |

Bright Red 1985 Vette, Z51 optioned.
Got it my Junior year of HS, the day before the first day of school my parents surprised me with it ( this was in 2002). Had 106K on it when I got it. I parked it last year at like 151K miles, as it had started eating oil like a fat kid eats cake. And the paint that had just a year prior looked factory fresh was now peeling. Im currently rebuilding the engine, my planned mods are. Brodix Ik180 heads Lunati VooDoo 60101 Cam and Lifters Lunati VooDoo 1.6 Roller Rockers New Timing set Hedman Street LT headers New water pump All new gaskets Underdrive crank pulley Hypertech/Davis Unified Ignotions Distributor new Tach Filter New plugs and wires New intake Accordian New Polished aluminum valve covers All sensors replaces except MAFS. Delete AIR pump, AIR system, and EGR valve Delete. Custom Tune on the ECM chip. Exterior Mods Install a small low profile rear spoiler Bilstein Shocks Black ZR1 5 spoke wheels, 11X17 rear and 9.5X17" fronts. Sumitomo HTR-Z Tires 315/35-ZR17 rear and 275/40-ZR17 fronts Ive got a budget, 4,100 for everything, so Im shopping around for the best possible deals... LAstly, paint...Last for a reason, the most expensive mod of all. |

The great thing about C4's is that the technology of the car with a decent "lump" under the hood is surprisingly competative or superior to most performance cars on the road today except Vettes and Exotic Super Cars. Good luck on the refresh and welcome to the BARN |

I have a 1992 Bright Red A4. I bought it in 2006 with 125K miles and it now has 135K on the clock. It needs a new interior and the drivers side window moto replaced but that is it. I have done so many cosmetic repairs to it that they are too numerous too count.
- Is it what you want or a stepping stone to something else? I definetly wanted this model. The '84 came out when I was 16 and I have been in love ever since. I will own a newer model someday and will keep this one as well. What do you like about your car? Plain and simple, the LT1. - What do you not like? The location of the Optispark but who doesn't? - What are you working to fix/upgrade? The interior and the driver's window motor. - What is your favorite upgrade? Since I haven't done any that really make a difference then I would have to say the Hawk HPS brakes. Last edited by NEVRL8T; 11-02-2009 at 10:20am. |
