Default Rare thunderstorm going on here right now.

One thing cool about living in a mobile home is I have awnings extending the full 60' on both sides. I can open all but two windows and listen to the rain. It's making an incredible racket right now. One of my dogs doesn't really like it, though. Thunder and lightning, too.

Supposed to go on all evening, then clear tomorrow and no more rain in sight.

Pea-sized hail now. I can't believe we haven't lost power yet. I bet we do before this is over. Street and yard have a few inches of water in them. Another good thing about a mobile home, we are three feet above the ground.

It's stopped here for now. Still may be more coming in the next few hours.

Dry as a chip here in coastal GA and HOT. Three of the last 5 days topped 100 degrees actual and 99 the other 2. We're about a foot low on rain so far this year but got perhaps a 10th last night in spotty thundershowers. My yard is brown and crispy... haven't mowed in 3 weeks and it won't happen this weekend either.

Not too worried. They've been there for 40 years and been through some pretty bad storms. I never noticed it until I bought a mobile home, but those aluminum upright posts that hold the awning up are also bolted down to the concrete at the base. They are there to hold the awnings down as much as they are to hold them up.

There was a storm that came through here about seven years ago, I think, that took the roofs off of some buildings. Every awning in my mobile home park survived that storm.

Yep. 8' wide and 60' long on both sides. More covered outdoor space than I've ever had on any home I've ever lived in. Front and side small decks, parking for two cars and large patio. I even have a small TV outside in the BBQ/dining area.
