but I have to admit, at midnight, in a tunnel with the top down, at WOT, a stock exhaust on a vert does not sound all that bad.

stock titanium catback on my Z,but everything north of there is aftermarket. sounds EXACTLY like I want it. no annoying drone at 1500 RPM's & not too loud.

I think you mistook exhaust for the whoosh sound of the air passing overhead.

start drinking and try it again........I have 2 sets of LTs at the house now

I just snagged a set of FLPs off the CF. LOVED them on my 00' coupe and have the vert in the air right now

I never said it was loud, or tile shaking, I just said it sounded good...it may just be from me being a musician, and looking, or rather listening deeper into sounds and hearing pitches, tones, and overtones, but like stereos that blare at ear damaging decibels, you can't always notice those things when the volume level is too high.

Sorry.... stock exhaust is whimpy... if you don't want drone then get yourself some Corsas... you get all the good sounds w/o any of the bad.

are they made from titanium? Feck loud & belligerent. there's plenty of Hondas that do that.

Corsas are made from stainless, but the Extremes are within a couple of pounds of the Z06 Ti simply because there's less mass to them. The Corsa Indys/Tourning models are rather heavy.

I've had lots of exhaust setups on various C5s and these Corsa Extremes are far and away the best of both worlds. They're loud when you floor it and literally silent at cruise in high gears.... it's really trick how the helmholtz resonator concept works.

Here's what they look like.... at first I didn't understand how the chamber sitting of the main pipe did any muffling, but it's a tuned frequency chamber that cancels out unwanted sounds like the chambers on the intact tracts of most new vehicles.
