Philadelphia Trip Suggestions
I am, somewhat reluctantly, being sent to Philadelphia on business next week. I'll be in town for a few days. I'll probably be pretty busy, but I should have late afternoons/evenings free.
I am staying on Market Street in Downtown, Rittenhouse Square area. I'd like to see Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell etc. Appears those are within reasonable walking distance from my hotel. Any other suggestions? Cheese Steak in that area? Thx in Advance |

Go eat @ Reading Terminal market. Go to South St. There are some cool Belgian beer bars in Philly.
Make sure you tell people you are good friends with Trump. Try not to get stabbed. Cheesesteaks are everywhere. I’m sure the guys in here can guide you to their favorite. My best cheesesteak was in a small town outside Atlantic City. |

if you are into art, checkout the Art Museum on weds night, pay what you want night, also the Rocky steps are there. https://www.philamuseum.org/visit/ad...#special-rates
science and tech-the franklin institute. https://www.fi.edu/ got a taste for weirdness, mutter museum. http://muttermuseum.org/ drinks at the highest spot in philly--jean georges. https://www.inquirer.com/business/co...-20190807.html most drinks aren't priced over 15-20 bucks. be a little more specific about what you might like and I will try to narrow it down |

this is a newer museum. its pretty cool if you are into that kind of stuff. https://www.barnesfoundation.org/
if you can find time to walk the Reading terminal, its a bunch of philly staples in terms of food, both made to order, as well as specialties like cheeses, meats etc. tons of bars from working class to high end. restaurants out the wazoo. |

Last time I was there was '96 and I had a knife pulled on me by a guy named Julius who wanted my wallet and briefcase. I know his name was Julius because as I ran from him and a couple blocks later literally bumped into a cop, the cop saw Julius chasing me and yelled "Julius! I told you to leave people alone." Then he said to me "You can go now." I said "That's it?" "Yeah, that's it. Leave." Julius had already skulked off somewhere.
It's a fun place! |

rich older dude looking for young greedy chicks, Delfriscos Thursday night. delfriscos grille on broad, same food more low key.
decent sports bar, working class reasonable prices, https://www.smiths-restaurant.com/ casual seafood at the bar...https://devonseafood.com/Philadelphia its a stretch though when they say they are the best. best rated, toughest table right now, probably http://zahavrestaurant.com/ you might get in this time of year with no reservation. |

Reading Terminal Market
Plenty of good cheese steaks all over. If you want to get into the "name game" with cheese steaks, then check out Pat's or Gino's. ( they're good, but many mom and pop shops have better ) Phila Mint tour https://www.usmint.gov/about/mint-to...ur-information Plenty of good spots to eat at the Bourse Building https://theboursephilly.com/ LOCATION 111 S INDEPENDENCE MALL E PHILADELPHIA, PA 19106 If you go there, I remanufactured* the iron railings and steps when it was rehabbed in the late 70s and early 80s when I was an Ironworker. (* I matched the angles and scroll work as a lot had be lengthened. Price to replace was over $200 a foot in 1980 money. That's why it was saved ) Jeff added a picture of one of the staircases I worked on. |
