I would love to try some of that expensive stuff. The most expensive bottle I've ever purchased is the Macallan Classic Cut in this pic. That was a whopping $100.

I recently tried Redbreast 12 at a restaurant. I liked it so much that I bought a bottle for my SIL. He likes his Jameson.

There is an online whiskey group where I've heard nothing but great opinions of Redbreast. Figured I had to give it a shot.

If you like Macallan, Try it's doppelganger-Yamazaki. If you can find it.

The Japanese make whisky to rival any Scotch.

When the C8 arrives (down to 13th on the list...any day now), I plan on setting up an outing to Fort Myers for those interested in attending. It will be planned over a race weekend, so we'll be able to sample Corvettes at the track and I'll be sure to have a fresh bottle of each of the following Macallan years:
  • 12 ($80)
  • 15 ($135)
  • 18 ($360)
  • 21 ($600)
  • 25 ($2,000)
  • Jug of sweet tea for Doug ($4)

That list should be good enough for some flights to sample. I don't mind spending $3k so my forum friends can enjoy something they may otherwise never enjoy.

Will be back for the closing sometime early May. Hope to be able to coordinate dates to make a showing.

Nice way to wind down for the evening.

Hard part for me is finding a cigar that pairs well with my scotch.
Too mild and the taste isn't there, too dark/full-bodied, and it ruins the scotch palate.

I'll have to check that one out. I joined a whisky club a few years back that regularly brought in some great stuff to try that I'd never heard of.

That Lagavulin is fantastic as well.

We meet upstairs at an Irish pub in town and there's no snobbery at all. Just good people wanting to learn more about different whiskys.

I wouldn't use the word "whiskey" to describe scotch. Probably best stick with calling it scotch to avoid any confusion.

No doubt but it would be fair to use the word "whisky"

I'm confused. Isn't Scotch just Whisky made in Scotland?

Been running busy is all. Got sick of paying rent in FL so we bought a home there on the water. We'll rent it out while we're not there.
