no, not me, we're fine.

we have Animal shelters, that take in stray animals, fix them up, and then put them up for adoption. people can come by, pick out one or more critters, and then you provide a good home for them for as long as they are around. feed, shelter, maybe teach some skills/tricks, maybe give them some work (watch dog) to do to keep them interested and busy.

well, do i have a great idea:

apply the same model for the homeless.

if you are down and out, homeless, feeling hopeless, you could go (or be taken) to the local homeless shelter. they'd fix you up, give you some food and fresh clothes, and then local people, in need of some useful help, could adopt you. they would be responsible for giving you food, shelter, clothing, and giving you useful work to do for them, and maybe even provide some skill training for later work.

you could sign up for a fixed term, or a lifetime term.

now, i know some of you will say this seems like slavery.

uh, yeah. if you were a slave in ancient Rome, you were valuable, taken care of, given useful work to do, perhaps taught a trade, and if you had a good master, life was better than trying to just survive on the street with no protection.

Rome didn't have every damn psycho drug in the world out there, much less every .gov idiot with electronic comm. to everything in the world, creating jobs for the colledge kidz doing nothing all day......

I say this drug/homeless thing is nothing but a .gov sponsored make work project......

The problem is you can trust a homeless animal a lot more than you can trust a homeless person. Whereas the dog might shit on your carpet, the person might just as easily dump a bucket of warm diarrhea on your head.
