Something To Do?
Yeah, I know this isn't exciting as the back and forth banter that usually keeps this place going, but if you're looking for something to do around your Vette or another vehicle, I have a suggestion.
When's the last time you treated the weather stripping, especially on the Vette and targa, convertible top area. Even though I never drive with it off, I do like to keep it clean and treated to keep it in good order. Take the top off and look underneath the folds of the rubber stripping, most likely it will be caked with road grime and dirt especially above the top of the windshield. After a while the dirt acts like sandpaper and will deteriorate the rubber. Take a mild soapy rag and clean the stripping, also on the top too. Besides that area, do the whole car, around the doors, trunk area. Use a spray form of dielectric grease (CRC, Liquid Wrench, WD-40, etc.), spray on a couple cotton balls or rag (use gloves) and liberally apply, then wipe off excess. Try to keep it just on the rubber. This will keep the rubber supple and in good order. I do mine about every six months, keeps it like new.

I was essentially expendable at one time, so glad I'm retired.

Been using since back when I had my C5 in the '90's with successful results. I'll stick with what works for me and recommended in the owner's manual.
