I also started to buy a 50kg box of chuck roast for about $200 and portion it for stews and make ground.
Prime Beef/steak cuts have gone crazy.

Similar here. Big freezer full which we buy during sales. My wife cooks more than needed. I freeze and then vacuum seal the left overs.

Costco is no bargain up there.
We bought a new iPad Air at Best Buy for over $130 cheaper than friends bought a 2 Generation older iPod up there even after the Dollar conversion.
Even at our Costco, the Air was cheaper than the older gen up there.
That's a big diff.

She thought it was "overpriced" at $11.99 for white grapes. At $0.73 US per Canadian dollar, that is $8.75 US. The last time I bought white grapes at the local supermarket, it was $10 US, looked like the same size package. Sorry, not crying over this one.

The meat did look more expensive to me. Meat prices here have been zooming up though. Any decent cut of steak is $20 per pound minimum. If you like tenderloin (I do!), $26 per pound for the cheap stuff and $40 for prime.

People were doing this shit 45 years ago when I was getting out of High School with the whole Punk Rock movement. It looked like shit then, and does now.
Insecure people trying to look 'edgy' or 'tribal' with piercings, guages, and tattoos....trying to 'stand out'. Instead, they all tend to look alike....an abundance of smeared green and blue hues on their limbs, giving them a reptilian cast without the natural beauty....a body canvas of ink, nose rings, studs, and pins, screaming out: "LOOK AT ME! AREN'T I HIP!!?" When actually saying, "Look at me. I'm insecure and make poor life choices".
Nose rings and piercings and tats=Total Turn Off for GTOguy.

I've asked a couple of young women, in their 30s, about their tatts. They are both very attractive women. One's left arm is blue, and she said she regretted getting all the ink.

The other one's arm isn't quite as bad, but bad enough. We asked her what one of them meant that was mostly text, she went into this long explanation of what it was supposed to mean. And you could never read it unless her arm was right in front of you. She can't wait to get more ink.

WTF? What's the ****ing point then if you can't see or figure it out on your own?

What I keep asking is do young guys think a woman who is, say, a "7", but if she has tatts or pop rivets all over her face, that bumps her up to an "8" or "9"?

Who is it for then? Honestly. If you were the last person on earth, no way would you bother getting pierced or tattooed. It's TOTALLY to make a statement to others. And totally meant to impress. I call that posing.

Exactly.

No different than long hair and bellbottoms in the 1960's and 70's.
Except the tattoos are a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.

Yes.

And my question remains: Do young guys think a woman is hotter if she has tatts and face rivets?

FWIW: The woman I mentioned above who was sorry her arm was blue, said that when she gets dressed up (and I've seen her that way, WOW ) she has to wear long sleeves cuz the blue arm looks stupid.

THEY ARE PERMANENT, KIDDOS. Not like my shoulder-length hair in the '60s was.

Prices in Canada have been insane forever but lately it's out of control.

Lisa and I both make 6 figures and we do OK, but I don't know how anyone that makes anything less even survives.

A phukken case of beer is over $50, fuel is $1.80 per LITER, food is just nuts.

Cars & Houses are obscene.

You cannot get a fully detached house here for under $1M. Our 2,400 sq ft house that we just bought was $1.3M.

I will literally never buy a new car again. That's how bad it is.

We went out for St Patrick's Day; Pint of beer $10 and an order of Fish'n'Chips $22. Plus tax and tip. Tax is 13%. This is at a little pub in the burbs.

Anybody on either side of the border who thinks its not going to get worse has their head stuck in their ass.

Stock up now, it will never be less expensive than this very moment. Investing in food is going to be a net gain in worth.
