Have a couple of old Nikon bodies, lenses, motor drives and flashes in the basement. Not worth crap anymore but they still have sentimental value to me.

No bees but how about an ant?

I do it just for the fun of it. I've done a few weddings as freebies for family members but that's it.

I see at least 12 photo infractions and 6 building infractions in this photo.
Please fix them all up.

You guys are good.

You should see some of the shit I have to frame for people.

~ yeah and you're spending $300 to frame this test photo with conservation materials and museum glass.

Thanks. That was actually a sunRISE though. Hawaii... Maui over Mt. Haleakala (however you spell it). Took it just before we left on a boat trip out to Molokini.

That was shot with a Nikon 5000 point n shoot, but it does have a full manual mode. I think for that sunrise, I shot it with aperture priority, but it's been a while. My current camera is a Canon sx120is, again a point n shoot with full manual control, even allows for multi exposures should I want to try HDR photos (I suck at those too).

While I would LOVE to go back to a DSLR, the price is high enough that I can't justify it right now. Besides, the main uses for my camera are photos while out and hiking around or on vacation. In both cases, I am not a fan of lugging lenses and lighting equipment.

I've gotten good at holding the camera still for night shots, and will occasionally use a tripod, but the pics below were handheld.

But scenery is really what I love to shoot. I like to capture what nature has provided. I sometimes get lucky and capture it well.

What I'm REALLY loving is underwater photography. Talk about challenging!!!

But to really do it with DSLR's is CRAZY expensive - not only do you have the camera, but you have the housings, strobes, power for the strobes, tray to hold it all together... The housings alone can cost WAY more than the camera itself.

There are quite a few great photos in this thread. I may not be the most technical, but they look great to me.. the macro shots, the fog rising off the water with the boat... VERY nice!

I get my share of snapshots, but there is definitely a difference between a snapshot and a photograph. Many use the terms interchangeably.

Not a bad idea - lots of great photographers on this forum. Be a place to brag, learn new techniques, and get some advice.

I miss my DSLR

Took this with a cheap power shot

Can't remember, but the most PS I use is Auto Levels

Because I'm lazy.

And I think this one came off an iPhone

One photography forum I lurk around on and sometimes post has a monthly assignment thread. Everyone submits their best photo for the assignment for review and judging. That could be fun here. I don't care about the judging part. We could pick or assign a subject for each month and then post them up.
