Default Warning: Actual C4 content- enter at you own risk of boredom

So I must be getting old because I thought my Corsas were too loud. I did get pulled over by SDSD last summer after all for entering the freeway on-ramp with extreme prejudice. IMO it was because the Corsas are cop callers and loud as hell.

So I was thinking that the oem ZR-1 pipe size is still larger than the corsa set (2.7" vs 2.5") so I would just get a stock set of pipes. A guy 80 mi north of me had one so I scooped it up. Had the local exhaust guy down the way throw on an x-pipe instead of the restrictive oem resonator and called it a day. I also got the x-pipe from the guy with the pipes. It was actually a magnaflow one with the huge magnaflow resonator can/x-pipe combo, but my guy didn't like that part and pitched it.

Yeah, the tips aren't shiny anymore, but they are ZR-1 correct, quiet, and I think making pretty decent power on the set-of-the-pants-ometer. I want to test them soon on my secret midnight test track with my G-Tech, but it has been too wet lately.

Previous history: I had a B&B 3" set on the car when I bought it, but the Corsa was .1 sec to 60 mph and .1 faster in the 1/4 mile over that. The 3" set had 1 mph on top though.

They look good Mike. Give them a coat of high-temp black and they will be right on the money.

Now speaking of that 0.1 second difference. Next time wax your car with a microfiber towel and that will make up for that 0.1 of a second. Sweet and Bryan did it and he has prove. I will adopt their method next time I wash and wax any of the Vettes.

0.1 second is the difference between being a 12 second car or a 13 second car. 12.9 < 13.0

I did the same as you, took the Flowmasters off and put an LT1 exhaust on.
The car is quieter, with my 396LT1. I hadnt thought of replacing the center resonator with an X pipe. Will it make any difference?

It does on the LT5. the factory resonator necks down to a 1.5" glasspack internally. The muffler isn't so great either, but I can throw on an aftermarket turbo muffler at some point if I can find a 3" one or a true dual outlet.

You get the smallest amount of resonance with the x-pipe. not at all the C4 drone, just not bone stock quiet. Believe me, it is really quiet by running the original pipes and mufflers. I'm sure they did a lot of engineering to get the pipe bends and pipe wall thickness just so to avoid underbody resonance.

The Corsas were basically glorified muffler eliminators. Nice tips on them though.
