Vinyl Fence install.
Having a 6ft vinyl fence installed. I always thought there were 4x4 wood posts under the vinyl posts. Guy tells me they don't do that and looking at 2 estimates they don't include any 4x4's.
Is this normal. I was just surprised. He said they just cement them in the ground. |

None of our vinyl fencing has any wood posts, they typically use concrete for gate supports or some companies may fill with concrete every 3rd or 4th post.

Yep they just cement into the ground. They make steel inserts for corners and gates if wood posts are not used inside at those locations. Not all corners need inserts I'd bet. Good for high wind locations also.

They should be 6x6's if they use wood inside

I have a few hundred feet of vinyl fence on my commercial property. No wood in the posts, but I was surprised like you are, at the time of install.

Vinyl fences are weak. Pour concrete into the vinyl hollow poles. To test strength, borrow a boxer dog.

If it seems weak when installed then insert a #3 rebar in the center and fill with cement grout, not concrete. Corners, every other line post, every third, or whatever.

THIS^^^^. And not what the guy 'who has no use for a chainsaw but if he did it would be a Stihl' said.
