The Barn golf thread
Played a few times this week. Pro-Am Monday at Waynesboro CC, finished 5th with a 1 over par. Made $545 for the day with my finish, the teams finish(3rd) and a $280 skin in the pro purse.
Thursday played 12 holes at Musket Ridge with one of my students. I was 1 under on the front, 2 under for the first 3 holes on the back. Hit some of the longest tee balls I've ever hit. Bent grass playing hard and fast is the best! My student, she's coming along darn nicely for a 2nd year player. Just way too hard on herself. Musket Ridge in Meyersville is one of my favorite courses around. If you get a chance to play it, don't pass it up. Played yesterday at Quail Valley in Abbottown, Pa. Finished even, which was pretty good for freshly aerified greens. Hit one ball OB, but followed that up with birdie on the next hole. 3 birdies, 1 double(OB) and 1 bogey. 2 for 2 up and down out of the bunkers. Been making a couple swing changes, and they are finally starting to take hold. How's the rest of the Barn playing?

Wait -- you can MAKE money playing golf?!
I thought you just paid green fees and bought balls to sacrifice to the pond people. |

Sometimes I can. Other times I just pay my entry fee, miss a bunch of putts, hit a bunch of crappy sots, get pizzed off, cuss, then sit around with the other pros who played bad and talk bad about the guys who played good.

And I thought golf was just that annoying 4-5 hours before wings and beer. Who woulda thunk it.

Nice playing Tim!
Current handicap is 7.3. The usual mixed bag of scores. I'm consistently inconsistent. At least the knee held up reasonably well so that's great news. |

7.3 is pretty darn respectable. That's probably about my index for tournament rounds this year! You know we gotta get out soon and smack it around.

I drove the cart around and swung the club for a few hours for a charity event on Thursday. I have no idea what my score was, but out of the 18 holes, I may have gotten par on 2.

Did ya drive it like you stole it?
For as little as you swing the sticks Sean, parring 2 holes isn't bad at all.

Yeah I thought parring 2 was pretty awesome. The last time I picked up the clubs was uhhhh .... April last year.

Played a quick 9 after work yesterday. Took 3 guys out that play in the Tues. morning white tee gang. They started talking some smack, so had to put the smack down on em.
We played "you 3 against me". $10 a man. Sneaks got a free tank of gas yesterday.
