So there is no one who is denied the "right" to vote at all? Not a single person? That's your stance? See above for how incorrect you are and get back to us.
This is ridiculous. You seriously fail to see the difference between forfeiting your rights through criminal conduct and having your rights unconstitutionaly denied? If that's the case there is no point in discussing the issue, you have no comprehension.

I said every US Citizen is guaranteed equal rights. They are. If you chose to forfeit your rights through your voluntary conduct, that is on you. It is a whole different matter than having your rights denied.

doubt you will get any disagreement with this post.

my original point...that Mr. Deep Thinker missed is, voting qualifications

I can not believe some of you are advocating taking away citizens right to vote.

Sometimes I wonder how past societies let themselves devolve into fascist states. Then I read threads like this and it becomes apparent that even today it could probably still happen again.

Thank you for reminding me why I'm a liberal.

Yes I do feel there should be qualifications to vote. I believe you should be required to be a US Citizen and of military age. Yes, I am aware you can enlist at seventeen with parental consent and I think those who do should be allowed to vote.

no one is suggesting that at all.

some feel the vote should be a responsible one...and that responsibility should be qualified.

otherwise...you get a bunch of morons voting for "the popular" guy...or the "cool or good looking" candidate...

these folks have zero clue. a qualifier would force some to get a clue. and...if they have skin in the game, I promise you...they will get clued in real fast to protect their assets.

Why should someone be allowed to vote who only votes themself money from others? Theyaren't voting for the best candidate, they're voting money for themself.

That's an easy vote to make and the dems have exploited it. Make EVERYONE pay taxes and that problem is solved. Then vote away as long you are a citizen.

The key qualifier to me is in bold... the liberals who keep pushing for illegals to have voting rights are the ones that are absolutely beyond ridiculous. The only other qualifier that I might see would limit it to all citizens who pay taxes. You contribute, you get a vote.

What do you say Joe? You are a proud liberal. Should all of the illegals get to vote for the dem of their choice?

Holy shit. You make it sound like republicans never vote their own pocket book.

I can guarentee you FAR more money has been given to conservatives in the form of defense contracts, subsidies, tax breaks etc than what is paid out in welfare. Its not even close.

Social Security and Medicare are services paid for by the people now using those services so its not welfare. Unemployment is paid for by your former employer. It's an equal number of republicans and democrats that pull from those funds.

Of course not.

By the way most the the unwashed are Mexican Catholics and would probably vote conservative if given the chance.

But I believe felons once their sentence is complete should automatically have their voting rights restored.

Personally, I would love a responsible vote.

The last election is the most disturbing one in the history of this country IMO. I would be willing to bet a paycheck that more than half of the idiots who voted for Obama couldn't tell you what his stance was on even a single issue.

The problem is reality. Unfortunately, there is no realistic way to separate the idiots who vote for whoever MTV and Saturday Night Live tells them to from those who are voting for an educated reason.

I do find it very amusing that liberals know that an educated vote would be the end of them.

Do you have anything even remotely close to backing that up or are you just making shit up and presenting your opinion as a fact?

If there was an "educated vote", George Bush Jr never would have been elected.

OUR ELECTION INTEGRITY IS WORTH CHECKING ID. States MUST combat this weakness by using a lesser evil than vote fraud - means testing for purposes of issuing IDs and granting them to impoverished citizens for free on the tax payers' dime.

Better to spend $8.50 a head on the Democrat's constituency and have Republicans win a legit election than lose in a fraud and pay them THOUSANDS a head thanks to Democratic theft and wealth redistribution.
Indeed.

Let me get this straight.

You are actually asking me to prove that there are an equal number of republicans and democrats that pull from Social Security and Medicare?

Seriously?

Do all Republicans drop dead at 65?

Hell, I'd be willing to bet that since conservatives probably contribute more into SS, they take way more out.
