Default The Last Mile by VW

IMO a well done video by VW. I've missed the classic Beetles for years and I've always wanted a '67.

Bugs are going to still be on the road long after all of us are dead.

I learned to drive a manual on a '74 SuperBeetle. It was a rust bucket, but I'll never forget it.

My frist driving experience was in my sister and BIL's '63 dark green Beetle. They then got a '66 and parked the '63. Several cars later they still had the '63 and in the early '80's they asked if I wanted it (free) but I never took them up on the offer.

Here's a nice, clean 2004 Edicion Ultima for low $ 6K's....it was the last production of the Beetle in Mexico, so it has all the 'modern' goodies, more chrome, a radio, air conditioning, etc. Of course, the challenge would be to get it into the US with US plates.

If I was picking a Beetle to have, it would be an 'Ultimate Edition,' last year off the assembly line version like this one.

That was my first car - a 67 bug. Easiest car to work on. Did several mods while I had it.

Moving.

Emotional.

Wow.

An Ad that makes the eyes to water and gets the viewer choked up.

Bought my Daughter the car of her Dreams at age 16, yes, a used Turbo Beetle.

She just turned 22, is a Grad Student, & Teaching Assistant, and Smart. Purdue.

She doesn't see why anyone would ever want to replace a car. Ever.
If you love it, and it still drives, keep it.

It's a '12 with under 30,000 miles.
Solid / Fun / Awesome Little Ride ~ Best thing we ever spoiled her with.

When I graduated college, I had shit for money, but HAD to get a car to get back and forth to work. I found a '69 Beetle that ran and drove, but needed a lot of work, $500. Great car, fun to drive, easy to work on, parts were plentiful then (1986), even at the local auto parts store. Good times.
