ACI Splitter Installed
Well I finally got my new ACI front splitter painted and installed along with some new engine bling.
I went a little different than most do with the splitter. I decided not to have it painted to match the body, but instead I went with a matte black. It looks a little more aggressive and more like what you see on the ZR1. I know some will think it should be matching, but I like it. Besides I was able to do it in my garage with a few rattle cans of DupliColor. I also added some new bling to the engine bay. Here are a few pictures of the new splitter first showing the test fit prior to painting, then the completed project. Here are a few shots of the before engine bay. After the bling is added. Here are the shots of the complete car you asked for. Last edited by TR6speed; 04-28-2010 at 1:46pm. Reason: Added full shots of car. |

I think it looks pretty cool! I was hoping for some full shots though. Break that camera back out and give us some nice front quarter and side shots. :camera:

Engine bay has a bit too much going on for my tastes, but the spoiler looks nice.... any pics farther back?

Not too worried about damaging it, as it is not a daily driver and the roads are not bad here. I do hear it scrape just a little as I back out of my drive, but fine pulling in. I will try and cut it harder on exit, maybe that will help. The original factory side air dams really dragged going out. I do need to remember not to pull into parking spaces with curbs or curb stops to deep however, or better yet just back in. The nice thing about the matte black is a black magic marker will work as a touch-up.

Looks good!
Now if you paint the lower part of the rear fascia in the same black, it'll match the look of the front. |

That is next I have all the materials I need to do it, just need to find the time now. I have been doing a complete kitchen remodel as well as new hardwood floors. I finished the kitchen a few days ago, now I am ready to start the floors. The vette projects will have to wait.

Looks really good! I think the black looks tough and doing the same in back will really tie it all together. Not to mention if something happens to it you could fix it in the parking lot. The engine bay looks good. I like the battery cover. I just got one myself a couple weeks ago.
