Default {Lots of pics} Stopped by the museum today...

... for lunch.

Was on my back to Louisville from a business trip in Alabama so I only stayed for a quick little while. Military gets in free so I actually walked the whole thing quickly without feeling like I wasted my entry cost.

All I had was my phone so excuse the picture quality.

First, some C4s:

...1995 Grand Sport test car.

Some non C4s:

...The original prototype C5R

The museum also had a lot of the posters discounted. I still haven't finished my garage so I picked up 7 new posters to frame for a whopping $21.00, including this one that is one of my new favorites.

I'm so envious. I want to go to the museum so bad. When I have time off I always go see my family in AZ. While my dad is still around I try need to spend as much time with him as I can. Unfortunately it means not being able to do some other things. It's good to have friends who can go for you. Thanks for posting the pics.

I went last year, great trip - I enjoyed the tour of the GM plant more than the museum, would do that again and again and again just to take it all in as it moves pretty quick.

After reading the replies here I think the museum is definitely one of those things I take for granted.

I think I have been there about 20 times over the years for one reason or another.

I mentioned the posters I got earlier... I need to get some frames and get some of these put up, although I just realized tat I only have one that is C4 related.

While it may be the only one, it's certainly a very, very cool collage, especially that certificate of the ZR-1s world record achievement.

Yeah, what were they thinking putting the NCM on the wrong side of the country

To build a second one in California wouldnt be a bad idea but, BG is the Vette's birthplace and all Corvette owners should go there at least once in their life.

No, its cheaper to build over there. I bet that lot will cost 50 times more in California. I hope it never moves to Mexico.

To be fair, Vettes weren't actually built in BG until June 1, 1981.

1953 Vettes were built in Flint, Michigan and 1954-1981 were built in St. Louis.

When the museum opened in 1994 it made sense to put it in BG.

Great pictures!

I really enjoyed my visit to the factory and the NCM. They told me they change a lot of the cars so there is always something new to see.

Shit, you are corrrect and I know that. I do mean it is for some C3 but all C4, C5 and C6.

When I visited last time (2nd time) I parked by the Bowling Green sign and I was wondering how many cars in he world actually drive back to their birthplace.

I wonder if crocodiles return to their birth swamp...

There seems to be a core group that stay but there are definitely new cars there on a regular basis. Since I was there a year ago I'd say there was probably a 30-40% turnover of the display cars.

On a side note, the last St. Louis car and the first BG car are actually on display right now. Any of you Barrett-Jackson watchers might remember them going across the block as a pair not all that long ago.

Me too. I went in 2006. It's amazing the number of people who say they liked the plant tour more than the museum.
