General Motors initially told state prosecutors that no GPS location data was available for the Chevrolet Suburban that Murdaugh was driving on the night of the killings. But lead prosecutor Creighton Waters informed the court that GM officials contacted him late Friday to inform him that, after further review in this highly publicized and televised case, they somehow found "a massive amount of data."

The data was shared with the defense, but both parties seemed to agree that the State will give the defense time to review it and seek its own expert reviewers before presenting the evidence and the testimony of any GM officials.*

The evidence and testimony will likely tell the jury a great deal about Murdaugh's movements and activities on the night of the killings.*

Bread and circuses. I mean, do you want people questioning why the country is going to shit, seemingly on purpose, or do you want mUh SuPeRbOwL and murder trials? Please ignore all the farms and food plants that have been burned down, ignore the fact that our climate change town criers are all silent about possibly the worst environmental damage to the US in decades, the train derailment, ignore the fact that military and govt. leaders are increasingly unqualified diversity hires, many of them deviant freaks intended to demoralize the public. Local family, quite well to do...I am local and they have been much in the news here for a couple years now. Full "Peyton Place" type stuff; Father a successful lawyer with substance abuse issues, a housekeeper who falls at the family home and dies whereupon Mr. M steals much of the insurance settlement from the estate; Youngest son borrows big brother's ID and goes on a drunken late evening boat ride which ends in a fatal crash, many lawsuits ensue. Mr. M pays a "friend" to shoot him in the head so surviving son can collect big life insurance policy which plot fails miserably; and of course his wife and youngest get murdered under odd circumstances at the family hunting preserve.
There's likely more I missed but this guy is so screwed in so many ways the National news is kind of required to air that dirty laundry.

All about the money. Why do people think they can get away with stupid plans like this one. He was going to prison anyways, but thinks murdering his family at point blank range will solve his problems and life would go back to normal.

Committing a crime or not. Just seems we are being constantly tracked by cameras or some type of bots. I'm not paranoid, but look where we are now with all of this. Just think in another decade where it will be.

All current vehicles are connected devices. Kind of like your phone. Whether you pay for the service or not, keep track of where that particular MAC address is-just in case you enable the vehicle to the internet or the service. It’s just small bits of info that are kept for future data mining.

The part of the story that makes zero sense, is the theory that he thought the deaths would get investigations of his finances derailed. The absolute opposite would be true. As soon as the police need a motive, his business will be under scrutiny.

Did you have any business enemies or anyone you do business with that might want to see you hurt?

Bam, he would be sunk. He'll say no, and they'll investigate anyway.

I can tell you the owner's manual on my 2013 Tundra stated explicitly that a chip in the computer records all driving parameters for the last few moments of driving in a running loop and that data WILL be turned over to authorities if legally requested. And you can bet 10 years later this data is even broader and scope and more sophisticated.

its not like google sends you a monthly report of everywhere you've been, which was known by tracking your cell phone metadata or anything. If they did, it would likely be called a timeline update and also show every place youve been as a red dot posted on a map. oh wait, that is exactly what happens.

Cphone is another trick on tracing, that I don't give a crap about, BUT tracing my car is another story, so just wrap the antenna the car uses to .com with, in aluminum foil, knock it off the air......for that matter they should be able to make little aluminum boxes to put cphones in, that are RF proof, so you can travel where you feel like without being traced......

course of you take phone outta the box to use it, you are located at that spot....
