[SR-71] - Met a Blackbird pilot
I recently met and talked with a Blackbird pilot for quite a while. Heard some good stories. What an unbelievable person and quite a gentleman. I was floored that his Dad flew one as well. There are not a whole lot of people who can say they have flown one of these...let alone a father and son who both did.
 I did not mind asking him for his John Hancock and he was happy to make the best of it on the model, which will make a fine addition to my bar.

We had a local pilot that had flown it. He had a picture on his wall with the caption - 'Member of the Mach 3 Club'.

Knew the SR71 pilots at Dryden. Always a sight to watch them take the Blackbird up.

Sorry, I just checked and the USAF has no record of a "John Hancock" ever having flown the SR-71. |

I work with an SR-71 pilot that holds the altitude record in the plane. A very humble man and won't even bring it up unless you ask. Has some great stories and very personable. I've had the opportunity to talk with him many times and always enjoy learning more and more about the Blackbird.
