Default NCM Insurance

So I just checked in with Adam and the NCM about an insurance quote on my C5 to see how competitive they are. I currently have it insured with USAA.

The NCM rate I was quoted was less than half what I am currently paying through USAA for the same coverage.

If you have not called these guys for an insurance quote, I'd highly recommend you do.

Interesting. I am paying in FL around 750.00 per year for the C5. Hows does that compare to what you have now?

The Keys for some reason, have some of the highest rates in the country. My insurance went from $$700 a year to $850 when I moved.

The rate I just got from the NCM with 100 / 300 coverage, rental reimbursement $30K agreed value, and a bunch of other things was only $390 a year. That allows for 6000 miles a year, which is far more than I'll actually drive.

Is that for daily driving? Or limited mileage?

Usaa is by far the highest priced insurer around me...not to mention some of the worst service. Shop everything you can if your currently stuck with USAA

Do you have to join the NCM to get their insurance?

I have the Z insured with the NCM. I have the drive to work option, 3K per year and the under 25 driver options. I am just over $500 per year. This reminds me, I need to drop the under 25 since the kid had his b-day, and has his own Z.

Who is the actual underwriter or company? Isn't the NCM just agents?

American Modern Insurance. I had a minor claim recently, stone chipped windshield, and it was handled perfectly

That is what I thought as well, but the OP's quote seems a bit high for one car though. (Dont know his driving record though.)

It allows you to drive your car to work on occasion. Nice feature. My commute is 106 miles round trip and some days I just feel the need to take a cruise in the Z.

I paid 106 bucks last go round, for a YEAR coverage, I shit you not, by FAR the cheapest around....mile limit is like 2500 miles/year, I seriously doubt I put that much on as many days it goes no where, and it's only a mile to anyplace worth going to, so the most is about 4 miles a day....spend more time at traffic lights than driving.....

For what I payed, 6 months full coverage on my C5 at State Farm, I pay for a full year at NCM for BOTH my C5 and C3! Same coverage and replacement amount.

I'll have to remember that. Wife and I just got a lifetime membership for the NCM a few months ago.
