A North Carolina high schooler has been charged with assault after allegedly being caught on camera slapping a teacher during a profanity-filled exchange.

The incident involving the unidentified juvenile occurred at Parkland High School in Winston-Salem on April 15, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) said on Facebook. Video posted online shows the student standing over a teacher who is seated before striking her in the face.

"Do you think that affected me in any way?" the teacher can be heard asking.

"Want me to hit you again?" the student says, while stepping up and repeating the question.

"I don't want it," the teacher says, before she is struck again. The hit is so hard that her glasses fly off her face while the teenager continues his profanity-filled rant.

"Ain't nobody even coming. You got slapped," the student says. "B----, go back to teaching."

The school's principal, Noel Keener, told parents in a message that the student would face disciplinary action in addition to criminal charges for "inappropriate and unsettling" behavior, according to local TV station WGHP.

Neither the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools spokesperson nor the superintendent responded to a Fox News Digital inquiry about what happened, but Superintendent Tricia McManus told WGHP that the student's "behavior will not be tolerated" and her focus was on making sure the "teacher is taken care of and has the support needed to navigate through the lasting effects of this incident."

The superintendent also plans to recommend expulsion from the school district in a hearing separate from the legal ones.

"All of us should be outraged when those who educate us can be assaulted," FCSO Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. said in his department's release. "We are praying for wholeness for those students who witnessed this and the educator involved."

The student faces one charge of communicating threats and two charges of misdemeanor assault. The sheriff's office says no additional information will be released since he is a juvenile.

Former teachers at the school told WFMY-TV they were not surprised after seeing the now-viral video of the assault circulating online, adding that behavioral problems at the school took a turn for the worse when students returned to the classroom following COVID-19 closures.

Shit, my X DIL got the only teaching job she could get right after graduating college. It was at a school with the initials (MLK)in the name. I did my best to talk her out of going there, but she was a country girl and did not understand just how bad city black people could be.

She taught up to 3 grade and she was spit at, cursed at and even stabbed with a pencil by one, a 2 grader. Talking to the black sad excuses of a principal did nothing. She was told she antagonized the kid!

It got so bad there that she (5'1'' 120#s) was threatened by a father (6'6'' 250#s for failing his little crotch spawn. She did change the grade after her car got vandalized. We did not have much work in the area so for the last 2 weeks of school I took her and picked her up at the end of the school day.

That was enough and she quit teaching after that one year and got a much safer none teaching job with the state of NY.

Charged with "misdemeanor assault" as I read the article... Of course, the school is downplaying it, but that video went mega-viral so I'm thinking he may actually get punished. Hopefully expelled and not just suspended.

If that were my wife or daughter I'd talk to that misguided youth somewhere with no cameras and convince him of the error of his ways.

Both of my kids went to West Forsyth High School (mostly white) and Parkland (mostly black) is in that school district.

Baby Doll coached, and our daughter played, field hockey for West. Our team was epic those years, crushing the other teams in the conference. One year we scored something like 78 goals vs 0 in conference play.

Some of the Parkland girls were downright nasty. Once we played at them on our field, and after scoring 7 or 8 times some of them started cursing, hacking. Normally when up that much a coach will use up the bench players, but this time we exacted revenge by showing no mercy. As I recall we won 15-0.

They were pissed, started fights in the parking lot after the game. Good thing that we had a lot of parents there, some of our dads saved the day.

Funny, I did just that with my son. He's turning 40 later on this year. Well educated, been working at Livermore for 15 years. Turned out very well.


His mom and I were divorced when he was still a toddler but we always got along and on the same page with him. I always had him most of the time every other weekend. Worked out well. Taught him to ski, swim, rc flying and all of it.

He was around 10 or so and she was handling him grabbing him by the arm and they were getting into it about something. He took a slapping swing at her for the first time.

She gave me a call. She lived 30 miles away in a suburb. Now, although it was not often, even at that age, he knew if I showed up unannounced, it wasn't good.

The cool thing was is that she would never tell him "I'm calling your father." We did this on purpose and left it as a surprise.

So I arrived and went inside. She called him from his room and to complete surprise, here's daddy!

I walked him around the yard by his ear for about 15 minutes giving him the riot act. I never spanked or hit that kid one time during his life. He respected me, loved me and knew not to fuck with me.

When I was finished, we went back and when we were by the door, I lifted him up by the front of his shirt and placed him against the wall and told him the day you can do this to me, you can do whatever you want.

Well LOL at 68, I am confident enough that day still ain't here. He has his mothers compassion type personality where as I was career Army

He turned out very well.
