Somewhere I think I read Sirius is run (or was founded) by an Ex-CEO of AOL. They certainly have the same or similar customer business model. For every customer that doesn't question the rate, they can lose a couple that don't want the hassle of getting a better price. The rest of us just call and get the "real" rate.

I always send a certified letter (cost $5.50) and tell them if they won't renew for $77 annually per car (we have two with XM) they can cancel. I specifically say that I do not agree to renew at their "current rate". I usually send this a month before end of current service. I agree that they should come up with a standard rate and work their business model around that...it's got to be cheaper than hiring all of the semi-literate telephone people to screw around with customers. When the wife and I bought our new 2013 Honda CRV, it came with free 3 months. We never agreed to renew the service, but they keep sending us special deals in the mail every other month. From what I've read here with the examples, I'm not interested in getting their service with the kind of games they play with the price.
