I haven't flown Delta since they flew DC-10's and L-1011's, which were falling out of the sky at the time. 45 years ago.

If the plane is overbooked, they're supposed to ask for volunteers to give up their seats, in return for some incentives, getting rebooked on a later flight plus an incentive.....a refund, vouchers for future flights, etc. Singling out this one family with a 2 year old is unconscionable.

Now, having said that, the flight crew are the law of the land. They can practically give any order, and you, the passenger, must take it or yes, eventually cops will haul you off the plane, and then you're at the mercy of the police as to whether or not you go to jail.

I get this guy's frustration, and the fact that it's a red eye, so he's wondering WTF he is supposed to do with his family for the night. I get it. Still, when they tell you to GTFO, and your initial discussion/argument fails, you've got to GTFO and try and right that wrong later on.


FWIW, American is no better. Here's American stewardesses and American, harassing one of their FA's for among other things, watching Trump's speech on J6, complaining about masks, etc. Wicked, wicked people, her fellow FA's, most of whom she didn't even know, and the company that backed them.

I disagree with it, and I hate it, but the reality is that this shit only happens in the cattle car. Yeah, when my wife and I had kids, the cattle car was the only option we could afford, so I'm not criticizing the parents here, but if you don't want to potentially deal with this bullshit, the alternative is the pay the ridiculous upcharge for business class.

It still happens in the front end of the plane. Maybe not as frequently but it still happens. Here is a site where I have seen plenty of stories about people being abused in first class. All airlines have employees that are ignorant or on power trips.

The wife and I are going to Tennessee in a couple of weeks flying from here in CA to visit my little brother, and my 3 grand kids and daughter who moved out of CA to Tennessee last year. It will be my last time flying anywhere. Like you said, I HATE the whole experience.

Now I just need to find a decent comfortable car for long travels. I currently have a Subaru 2016 Outback. Nice car, but not very comfortable for long drives.

I have been flying a lot lately. I cant say anyone is worse than the other. It goes in cycles. I flew to Australia when Covid was full tilt, United, no issues. No covid, Delta and United were fine. American has been good, as well as Alaska. Overseas, KLM rocks. They just do..
