Default My aunt's new Vette

When my aunt's husband retired from GM, one of the first things he did was buy a 93 Vette. It was his baby, and they enjoyed the heck out of it by showing it and taking it on road trips. He died about a year ago, and she said she would honor him and have good memories by taking it to shows.
Last week she called me out of the blue and asked me to meet her at the Chevy dealer. She said lately the car had been doing the opposite thing she wanted to keep it for. Every time she got in it something else was broken, it leaked, the top was a pain in the ass to deal with, the seats needed attention, and it was primitive compared to her Caddy. The trips in the car made her cry instead of bringing back fond memories.
I know it was crazy hard for her to let go of the 93, and I explained the situation the the saleshole. He was completely low pressure and let her fall lin love with the car on her schedule. The 1 touch top sealed it for her I think, but bluetooth and cameras on both ends were contributers.
Out with the old and in with the new as they say. Congratulations JJ on your new ride!

Nice! I hope she will be very happy with it. But did you have to show us the tail lights?

I can relate to part of your Aunt's dilemma.
The part about about memories made are tough to swallow
right now, kind of sad indeed.
Took my '76 out Wednesday.
Was going to take it out Thursday for a quick run.
Dead battery.
Broke-down stuff, not so much.
Curtosy light left on (my fault, turned the light switch too far to the left).

That is a great story. I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted her to have to deal with the nickel and dime hassles either. By getting the Vette, she is staying true to what she wanted by creating new memories in it while remembering the times in the 93. Hope she enjoys the heck out of it!

For the amount of money she paid for the "new" one she could have spent a few grand to get everything fixed on that beautiful '93 and kept the great memories intact.
If it were my mom I would have told her to get the '93 fixed and keep dads memory alive.
