Default Old man mode, engage!

I hate driving my truck and I needed something more civil and with more utility than my Miata and Victory.
Enter, the Panzerwagen.
I picked up this 5 series wagon and it is surprisingly fun to drive considering its ocean liner-like size.

Now maybe I will put the vette back together.

Comfy ride with room for extra stuff. Good deal

My FIL is still rocking an early 90s 5 series and its a very pleasant car to drive.

In the background is a 2016 Nissan Altima with around 17,000 miles. This car has ten times that and feels 100% more solid. I have a bunch of tools in the back, a sheet of starboard and assorted other crap and it still handles really well despite its pedestrian Michelin tires. I really wanted 5 speed 540 V8 wagon with an M package but they are tough to find.

I have a 2008 Altima that is my DD. Just about 110K miles. It has been the most reliable , no trouble car we have ever owned.

I refuse to get rid of my 2003 525i.
I love it and will probably drive it until it dies. It has 179k miles on it and is still running strong.

I'm sure it will go another 110, it's just not my thing. My brother just got rid of an 05 Altima with mid 200's on it.

I actually ran it at an autocross yesterday. It was slow as hell but was a crowd favorite seeing a 4,000 Panzerwagen drifting through the course.

On the autobahn, you'll get passed by plenty of station wagons. Maybe it's salesman hauling ass to their next call. Whatever the reason, you need to get used to getting smoked by a station wagon.

Never even seen one of those around here. I doubt if they were sold in Canada. Did they come in a 4 wheel version?

Yes, they come with 4 wheels. 6, if you count the spare and the steering wheel.

The AWD versions have the model name followed by an X. The 3 series wagon is more popular but not as roomy, which is why I wanted a 5 series. I had all my boat gear along with my outboard, three batteries and fuel tanks in the back and still had plenty of room.
