Speaking of military debates, there's something I've been wondering for a few years now.

What happened to the National Guard? When did they become the International Guard? Is there a name change coming soon?

I always thought the National Guard was for in-country problems, & that the Army, Navy, Air Force & Marines were for out-of-country problems & wars.

Not really, the invasion of Normandy included the 29th Infantry Division, NG units from MD and VA. The Guard has been used in most conflicts overseas.

In today's world, guard and reserve units make up over 50% of our nations forces now.

I'm in an Air Guard unit as a full time technician and have spent more time deployed than I ever was in my 7 years of active Air Force. The Army National Guard has really taken a beating. You're right.

Department of the Navy wins a war with the other branches. Period.

By air (Navy has more aircraft than the Air Force), by sea, under the sea, and by land (yep, Marines are DoN).

No other branch is going to even come close to stopping a fleet of aircraft, ships, subs, and Marines.
