Colorado is totally fuked. A husband can suck his husbands d1ck while they both smoke dope, but normal people can't have a normal capacity magazine.

That state is completely ****ed. Period. They will get no $$$ from me for anything that I can control. I will go else where to ski from here on out.

I'm sure it's the Californians that moved to the state that FUBAR'D it. I propose a new law-You can only vote in the state you are born in. Texas will be next on the list with all the yankees moving there.

probably...a deranged asshole from my old neighborhood shot that theater up.

but on the other hand, some of these new gun laws are making Cali look good- at least we left loopholes to exploit.

It does. Thing is, you have no idea what actions I may have taken. Maybe I wrote a letter to my Senator asking him to consider the direction .gov is taking regarding this volatile issue? Understand something here; I have no dog in the gun debate fight. But I DO have one in the .gov is getting too fuking big fight.

And Red Goat? Good for you. You're taking some action. But all I see HERE is a bunch of "Fuk the Liberal scum" posts from you. Ft Laud Mike, Cybercowboy, Jeff, Bill Daniels and few others are willing to debate this topic rationally. All you do is rage. See the difference?

OK, great. The problem is, this argument is not with rational people. It is with a bunch of self righteous assholes fueled by ignorant ideals who spew constant lies and bullshit to a willingly ignorant public to further their agenda. They don't care about facts or logic.

Ask the people of New York, California, Colorado, and Illinois how being "reasonable" has worked for them. Rational arguments get nowhere with irrational people.

I spent too much time and sacrificed too much defending this country to see a bunch of asshole politicians shit all over it. So yes, I AM pissed.

Maybe that's where the difference lies. There is no healthy debate as far as I see it. It is very straight forward, black and white, and the sides are very clearly defined. There are those who want to take rights and those who want to keep them. Anything in the middle is irrelevant. I am very much against the "your side" vs. "my side" mentality in politics. As a whole, I think BOTH parties are full of idiots but in regards to gun control the lines are very clearly drawn.

A "healthy debate" is great for most issues, be it the economy, religion, social issues, or an infinite number of things, but not when it comes to taking the rights and freedoms of millions of law abiding citizens in the name of a more powerful government. That is simply not debatable. That is a fight.

You don't have to look any farther than New York, California, Illinois, and now Colorado to see what happens when you "debate" with these people. Those states contain almost 25% of the population of the US. That is 1/4 of the population of this country that has lost a very significant amount of their rights.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world he didn't exist. 25% of this country has already lost and very few have even batted an eye. This isn't "mindless fear mongering". This is very real and it is happening RIGHT NOW.

While the real issues of the United States Of America remain hidden , such as health care, unemployment, and the mirage of the falsely propped up economy, the hot button gun issue makes the head lines.
What a crock of shit !

The gun debate is a tough one. We're talking about a specifically stated right in the Constitution. But people want to skew, twist, and slaughter the words in that 2nd Amendment to fit their agenda.

Complicate it by putting in emotional arguments and it gains traction. I've seen several news stories by people who are supposed to be impartial, but use emotionally charged words like slaughter, evil, assault and throw in the 'for the kids' argument. But when presented with stats and facts, like the hammer/gun image above, they throw them out.

IMO, before ANY new laws are introduced, the existing ones should be enforced, those arrested in gun crimes actually prosecuted, and the results evaluated. If the old laws aren't being enforced or used, why add more to the problem? If you enforce the existing laws and show them as being more than just paper tigers, perhaps people may think twice.

I dunno. I understand the need for laws that work, but I just don't get the logic of adding more laws when you haven't enforced and used the laws already in place. It's like saying "You have to drive your car on the right side of the road" and then making a new law saying "You cannot drive your car on the left side of the road".

So, the gun debate continues. You have the side using emotional sentiment to win. And the other side is emotional about the rights granted in the Constitution. How can it NOT be emotional? While facts should win, they haven't been doing well lately.

While I am a gun owner, I don't think I'm a gun nut. I only have a few, but what gets me is the .gov trampling on the "shall not be infringed" part of the 2nd and the media constantly skewing stories. And yes, I have contacted my congressmen and senators. I have even contacted a few high school friends who now serve in public offices, one of which was a DA for a large city and who had been shot.

100000000000% This.

Let's look at the asshole in Newtown...
  • Murder is pretty obviously illegal so we will start with 1 count of First degree premeditated murder for his mother.
  • To kill her, he used a Marlin .22. (Illegal posession)
  • When he took off to Sandy Hook, he was in a stolen car (Felony Grand Theft Auto)
  • He had posession of 4 weapons that he stole from his deceased mother: Bushmaster AR, Glock 10mm, Sig 9mm, and a Saiga shotgun (4 counts Grand theft of a firearm (felony) as well as stealing the ammunition)
  • He brought 4 weapons onto school grounds, 3 actually into the school (4 counts "gun free zone")
  • He forcibly broke into the school by breaking through a door. He was not admitted voluntarily (Breaking and entering)
  • He then shot the principle and psychologist when they confronted him (2 more counts of 1st degree murder)
  • Next he broke into multiple classrooms killing another 4 teachers and 20 kids (24 counts of 1st degree murder)

I can guarantee that there are more laws than I can think of that were broken in the process, but off the top, he broke the law at least 38 times in his killings, not even taking into account where State and Federal laws overlap.

This is not a matter of enough laws. The laws that exist are MORE than sufficient. This guy was sick. At every level... he was sick. Bad things will happen in this world and bad people will exist. It is a tragedy when it happens, but no matter how much idiot idealists may try, you simply can not legislate human nature.
