Default My New Toy

A handful already know, but it's time to make it official.....

My new midlife crisis toy followed me home last weekend. 2014 Ram 2500 4X4 Cummins Turbo diesel. 800 ft lbs of stump pulling grunt. This thing is bad to the bone. It's actually just a high optioned Tradesman, but it had everything I wanted and nothing I didn't.

Besides the massive oil burner under the hood, trailer brake control, exhaust brake, dual 220 alternators and dual batteries, UConnect 5.0, back up camera and alarm, skid plates & tow hooks, Class V hitch with 4 & 7 wiring harnesses, and all the usual power doodads. It's getting nerf bars this weekend so I can get in it since I'm a midget. Managed to get it $1500 under invoice.....$46,700 out the door.

Can't wait for summer to hook the RV up and see if it rips it in half

And the requisite pics....

It would have to go sideways, but I doubt the truck would notice it. I used the exhaust brake for the first time today coming down TransMountain Road. They muffle it, but the jake brake sound is just too cool!

Got the nerf bars on today. I can now get in without a ladder.

Nice truck! Are you planning on any mods like replacing wheels and tires?

Probably not. It will do everything I want it to exactly as it sits. No need for performance mods....It will boil the rear tires at will already, and has double the torque I will ever need. It's already overkill. Bedliner and hard tonneau next, and that's probably all.

That thing looks mean! I have absolutely no need for a truck like that- so why do I want one?

Is that "had" in the sense that he gets turned on by the gas cap?

That is a possibility. But I don't see me fulfilling this desire anytime soon. 120 mile a day commute demands more than 10 mpg..

At least I wouldn't have to sneak upon the gas cap like you would...or do.

So that is how you're going to justify another Miata?

Damn Friz, I'm not an expert on heavy hauling pickups but I'd say you don't have to be to see that thing will take the gold. Congrats!

Hopefully next week I'll be signing a contract for my newest toy/project. But that will be a different thread.
