I've got one too. Hangs in my garage with the other Corvette and car memorabilia.

Michael was a good friend. One time he helped me break into my C5 Vert when I locked the keys in the trunk at a Cruise-In.
I got the door open and he crawled into the truck from behind the drivers seat.
When we got the keys out finally we looked up to see a local police car watching us.

I had to prove it was my car and not stealing it. We looked guilty...

He got REALLY sunburned that day and I made him follow me to my car to get him some sunblock.
I laid my keys in the trunk so I could find the tube of sunblock.
Forgot they were there and closed the trunk lid.
Just as the lid was about closed, I remembered where the keys were...TOO LATE!

[EDIT]
Found a picture of Tony that day. Sun burned and passed out in a chair.

Speaking of Mullet, here's a pic at the Waffle House right after we were told we weren't allowed to bring our beer in.

Here's a couple pics I have with Mike in them.

I forgot about that shirt I had. I wonder where it is

I was a witness to that..

Michael was a great guy. Was with him on one of the early Bahama Jams cruises. He was a blast to be around.

Mike was a cool dude.

Interestingly, the first memory that came to mind was that Vette show in Tampa (Stangkiller will recall)...When that chick he was with (wasn't she a stripper?) drove my car back to the hotel.
As tipsy as I was, I swear we'd have been a lot safer had I drove...She was having a bit too much fun with it.

I had planned to go to the memorial his family held in MI after his passing, but had to cancel for some reason...

He was pretty far out in the desert, over 50 miles. Despite all of our modern advances, it is still very dangerous to underestimate deserts and oceans.

As I recall, the road his car was discovered on, basically went on..and on...then abruptly ended in sand or something, I recall the car was stuck, maybe he pulled off to turn around?...no cell service, no GPS, very limited supplies on hand, I think he had a bottle of water. Details were sparse, but when the water ran out, I think during the 2nd day, he went off looking for help.

Was anyone made privy t othe details?

Years ago when I was a teen, I hopped a hot shot freight train out of Bakersfield, Ca. that went through the desert non stop.. finally got off near Tucson AZ

Had no water or food, thought I was going to die.. and that was only one day!

had it been two....

I don't remember him, but from the photos and stories here it sounds like he was a great guy and fun to party with.

Wish I had known him.

If I remember correctly, his cell phone was found in his hotel room.

I met Mike through Chris (Stangkiller). I went down to Chris' house in Orlando for help installing LTs on my triple black Y2K. When we rolled up, Mike was in the driveway installing a shorty shifter in his yellow vert.

We went to lunch and Mike gave me a ride back to Chris' house afterwards. He was a really cool guy.

Such a shame that he left when he did.
