Sure, that just makes the ROI even worse. If I could make money by installing solar, I would, but it doesn't make sense, even here in sunny Houston. Add in extra insurance costs, ongoing maintenance, the danger involve with cleaning them on a 2nd story roof, and....no dice.

Don’t forget special roofing materials. That makes sense. My next door neighbor has solar. When the power was off I asked him about it. He said “It don’t do shit”

Updateto my tragic tale. Old generator is not making power. Ran all over town getting tester, special 30 amp plug, no worky. Bought new Generac 8000e. Done.

I’ll get the Honda fixed and sell it. It’s a monster. Good for heavy applications. Bad timing for expenditure but I found one locally (they are nowhere to be found) and I can run my computer network off of it easily with power conditioning.

Luckily for us, we are prepared for emergencies. It’s mostly a hassle. But people are literally dying from it.

Shelves are bare, still no gas and water and food distribution points are set up in most communities.

No, I’m not unhappy. I’m pissed off.

Any goofiness I may have had is gone.

Lookie here.....ERCOT requested, in advance, a waiver of environmental rules, well in advance of this week's coldpocalypse, and was basically rejected. If ever there was a time to relax the rules and let power producers be power producers, this was the week to do it. Instead, the Biden DoE told Texas they couldn't ramp up the production that we needed, that we could buy energy from out of state, but only at usury rate prices. So we evidently HAD more power generation that could have been on line to prevent the blackouts, but the Biden regime nixed that.

So to the people that died and were negatively impacted, thanks, y'all, for your sacrifices. We're savin' the planet, don'tcha know!

This is criminal, IMHO. Real people died that didn't have to so Biden could flex his green new deal muscles. Read the EO for yourselves, folks. I mean, read it.
