I'm not a resident there, but it seems to me that there are FAR bigger problems facing ALL California residents than short term rentals.

My POS neighbor across the street has two vehicles in his drive that have not moved or run in well over 2 years. His daughter just moved back in so he parks his van along side the daughters car in the dive way. His wife parks her suv on the front lawn.

Guess I will just have to hope he kicks the bucket next....Seems to be the only way these pigs get their property cleaned up.

I live in HB and i don't care what happens in L.A or Santa Ana or any other city. We have so many more crucial problems in our state and Nation starting in Washington D.C. I disagree with so many things that is going on right now. Pray and vote and when you don't like something get people to rally. We have the American Flag, the State Flag, the POW MIA flag that flies on Main St in H.B. People tried to have the Pride flag to fly with them and the people in H.B said Hell no and we didn't vote. Guess what, no pride flag in H.B. They can fly it in L.A or up their ass.

Living in a resort town like I do there are always short term rentals. Except for the litter it is rarely a problem. Black folk don't ski.

Last summer some college kids rented near me and partied outside until late. I walked over and drank a beer with them. As I was leaving I informed them that our police patrol several times a day and will enforce the noise ordinance after 10 pm. At ten, music turned off, just a few college kids around a campfire during beer.

Major problem along the beaches here. These greedy fools build 10 bedroom 10 bath McMansions and rent them for big $$, some are 10-20-30K per week. Usually 3-4-5 families and a dozen suburbans and escalades.
Parking is a big problem.

And yes we lived it. Worse was when we lived directly across the street from the beach. People would literally park in my driveway. And had one drunk get out of his car and pizz in my front yard, in broad daylight.
Every day and every night is party party party.

Each short term vacation rental home is a small business. Many actually are deeded to an LLC and almost all are managed by a property management company.

For this reason and others, we would NEVER live on the beach here again. Matter of fact when I have to go down to the coast I despise the trip. Truth, if there's not a financial incentive I don't go.
Eff that place. They completely ruined what was a nice little beach town.
